Website

The purpose of this website was to inform the audience about who I am. I made sure to add details about every aspect of my life without being boring and long. I want to grasp the attention of the viewers and show a different side of me that may not be seen on a day to day basis. I hoped for an intriguing experience while being truthful about who I am. Ultimately I believe I achieve this and will be sharing more information about this website.
The genre for my website was urban. The reason I chose urban was because I am in to urban things like music, clothes, movies or television shows. One category on my page that is urban was my hobbies list. I shared that in my free time I like to buy and collect sneakers. I am also very fashionable and I shared this on the website as well. The sneaker community has become a lot bigger than some people think. They’re are conventions, pop up shops, and even YouTube channels. Some people can make a living off buying and selling their sneakers if it’s in high demand. This is something that just started to blow up in the late 2010’s. Now it has become a huge deal, creating its on community.
While creating this website I made sure to give one picture on each topic because I did not want to bore the audience. The use of pictures can help give a better understanding of me as a person and the message I am trying to display. For hobbies I used a pair of sneakers I have in my collection that are my favorites. For talents I used a picture of a nord stage three. This is the keyboard that I hope to get in the near future. Although it is very expensive, costing around $4,500, I used this photo to show the audience where I eventually want to be in life with my talent.
The spatial mode of this website was very straight forward. It was not very hard to maneuver through the site. I wanted to align the words and pictures together so that you’d read first and then have a visual that followed behind what the audience read. I believe this helped with interpretation of what I was saying and gave a little more energy to the website. Adding my Instagram link helped a lot because it gave a more personal insight on my life and a way to connect with me. There wasn’t an aural mode presented in the actual website but the link to my personal Instagram account allowed viewers to hear my music and playing. It gave the audience an opportunity to hear my talent and experience it for themselves.
In my conclusion, I learned a lot during this experience of creating my own website. I used a template in the beginning because I did not know where to start. At first it was very confusing but as I kept moving forward I gained more clarity on what I was doing. If I could change one thing about my website it would be having more visuals. The website is black, white, and grey. It’s not very eye catching and if the viewers went off first impressions they probably wouldn’t continue to explore the web page. With time I know that I will be able to learn more with coding and create the things I want to see. This learning experience took me on a journey in the digital world, transitioning from interpretation to creation.

Shakespere Website

The site I chose to do a rhetorical analysis on was shakesperestaging.berkley.edu. This site provided information about all of Shakespeare’s writings. The main idea of this website was to inform viewers of his different plays and their different adaptations. It also provides a lot of explanation of his writings and how to interpret them.
At first glance this website caught my eye. The use of pictures on the home page drew my focus. As I continued to read and look for the purpose of this site I found out that it’s main goal was to collect audio-visual materials connected to the performance of Shakespeare’s plays back then to the present. I loved this idea, being that personally his literature was very hard for me to relate to. The website displays pictures that compare all of the different versions of Shakespeare’s plays. It helps with giving a better understanding of what is going on and helps people who may not comprehend, still appreciate his work.
This website was easily accessible. Everything you needed or wanted to know was there with a click of a button. The different tabs and topics were visible. I felt as if I didn’t have to do too much digging to access the full website. The site put all of Shakespeare’s plays by category. There was also a tab called staging by period which categorized the plays by time period from the Renaissance to the modern day. There were full on comparisons with staging by period and I found myself enjoying this the most.
As I continue to look at the visuals I couldn’t helped by being intrigued by the paintings from that time period. It helped give me a better visual of what that time period was like. Each play you searched when being on this website, had an overview, images, and bibliography. The author of this website presented a lot of information to give the audience the information they were seeking. The context of this was dealing with the era and setting all these plays took place in and included its English literacy as well.
The website aims for many audiences like students, teachers, and researchers. It has a section for every type of viewer which makes this website versatile while still having the main focus on Shakespeare. The site wants its viewers to learn and by having a category that gives you different viewpoints, a lot of people can find it useful. There is a tab included that showcases the different films and television shows that have been created based on Shakespeare’s work. I am a visual learner so I enjoyed this category. When reading Shakespeare, I believe it can be boring. My mind wanders a lot and reading his plays does not help with this problem. Seeing these plays being acted allows me to have a better understanding of what’s going on. I find myself being more included in the play than excluded because of my lack of focus when it comes to being on paper.
Lastly, there is a category exclusively for blog post. This tab allows people to post their thoughts on plays and new things coming up related to Shakespeare. Some people even post theories on what they believe. These blogs spark interesting discussions between the Shakespeare community and can also intrigue the minds of people who aren’t familiar with his work. In my opinion I believe this website
